Does anyone know the secret to obtaining paragraph spacing when using IE9?

I'm posting the question here because this is the most contributed sub-forum here.

I'm big on a lot of paragraph spacing because it clearly makes contributions easy to read.

In fact, every sentence written here has another line space after it to enhance readibility.

When I see first time contributors post a 4 inch thick single paragraph, I know what's really happened.

I try to contribute here where I think it can be meaningful, but, no paragraph spacing now that I'm on this (Windows 7) IE9 computer is no good.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks!

Best regards,

Bill

Bill, I haven't tried IE9 yet, but you can try to copy (or type) text into a word processor, insert spacing, copy and paste to IE9. With some programs the formatting will copy, with other programs it won't. Worth a shot.

Found it.

When using IE9, 'Compatibility View' (IE9 Tools tab) must be set for greenbuildingtalk.com .

Otherwise, paragraph spacing is ignored.

Hope this helps.

Wish I could help.

The problem is fundamentally with the GreenBuildingTalk forum - it doesn't function correctly with current technology browsers, like IE9 or Safari.

At least with IE9 it offers a 'bandaid' switch to perform as if it was a an older browser (IE8 or earlier).  Now that I just switched to a computer running Windows 7 / IE9, I've got an IE table set to treat greenbuildingtalk.com as an 'out of standard' web site and thus use an older (earlier) browser behavior.

Perhaps Safari has a similar 'band aid' function?

It's sad that GBT won't fix it's forum.  Many times when someone comes here to ask for help, unknowingly and unintentionally their hard effort written submission ends of as one long/big single-spaced paragraph.  I'm always amazed at those who can still respond, as I know that I'm not capable of reading something so densely packed.

Best regards,

Bill
