With dewpoints in the upper 70s 24/7 here, a week without AC is a lot to ask.
Here in Dallas, in some cases, like where it's been hot for a few weeks, it's way too much to ask. Ten to twenty people, who are typically elderly or have physical ailments combined with living somewhere with no A/C, die each year. Dallas even has ordinances that by law require multi-tenant structure owners to keep maximum temps at or below a certain level, regardless of what's broken. (As the structure owner, you better find A/C companies that can do repair quickly, meaning they have ample parts access and reasonable talent, or, at least have make-shift temporary means to provide cooling. Otherwise you're going to jail).
Here's a chart for our last few weeks:
WEL0043 . High today is 105°.
Curt comments with a better measurement, dew point. I looked at my running exercise log to see what kind of dew points we see here in Dallas. Look like for the past few weeks, in the 5 - 7 PM range, dew points run right around 71°, plus or minus 2°, with the exception of an occasional outlier.
Best regards,
Bill
