I'm interested in adding insulation to a 60 yr old house in SE PA. It has a cathedral ceiling that's probably not very well insulated, and I know the walls are minimally insulated (oil was cheap in those days). I've heard about blown-in insulating products but I'm concerned about out-gassing chemicals, moisture retention, efficiency, etc. Do you have any recommendations for adding insulation? This would help my geothermal system keep up with extreme cold, I'm hoping.
