Replacing an old submersible water pump for my existing system. Old pump was in about 10’ water on the bottom of a large shallow lake. Would like to replace it with one we attach to our boat dock in about 6’ water. We are in Alabama with winter water about 50 F and summer about 85 F. Good idea or not?

A submersible pump only needs the intake a foot or two under the water.

Lake temp stratification is what likely needs to be considered here...relative to Summer and Winter system efficiency.
