Hi all, I'm from South TX which is a similar latitude to South Florida / Florida keys. Very hot! This system would be 90% for cooling and maybe a few days of heating in the winter. We have clay/ silt soil, and I live next to a shallow body of water/ large natural pond that is on average about 4 feet deep. It may go down to 13 feet out in the middle. The issue that the weather is so hot, the average temp of the pond water in the summer is about 85 degrees. I was considering a pond loop system since the water is relatively close to the house, but since the water is so shallow and hot, when we want to do most of the cooling, would it be better to dig down until we hit the water table, and put loops in the ground? The pond surface itself is about 8 feet below the elevation of the house, so the water table, or at least moist soil I'm presuming won't be that far down. If anyone has worked in hot climate areas before, would appreciate any insight. This would be to cool a 2500 sq ft house. Thank you!
