I've been looking at sites that describe all of the techniques used to remove moss from siding. This raises the question, why not use it for siding. Could it be used with a product like Durisol, which should last under such strain. Anybody have an opinion on this? I live in a climate (Adirondacks) where moss thrives. I can imagine watering the moss as the only maintenance need. Could be a simple gravity mister off the roof.

I would be concerned that like ivy it can damage the siding. It has to secure itself to the siding somehow. It will also hold moisture against the siding. This will probably promote the growth of other things such as mold. Worse case it may provide a path for water to the backside of the siding. Not necessarily a disaster if there is a proper drainage plane, but is it worth the risk?
