I just received my new Geyser hot water heat pump. Just have a question about connecting it to an Amtrol WH7 indirect hot water heater. I'm hoping someone out there has had some experience connecting the Geyser to an Amtrol tank. Per Geyser instructions, the nipple with the heat sensor is supposed to be installed where the tank drain is. On an Amtrol boiler mate, that female drain fitting is not right at the tank itself like a conventional hot water heater. There is a long nipple, a 90 el, and another nipple that connects to the bottom of the tank. Since the drain fitting is over 12" from the tank itself, how would the newly installed temp sensor get an accurate temp of the tank water? The thermal sensor appears to be just a wire taped to the nipple. Can that thermal sensing wire be removed from the nipple Geyser provided and taped to the nipple coming out of the bottom of the Amtrol? Thanks

I have my answer from Geyser, thought I'd share.

The thermo sensor provided with Geyser can be relocated anywhere it will have
access to more accurate temperature reading. The tape used is standard aluminum
duct tape. Be careful with the sensor, but the tape you can remove and put you
own tape as needed.
