Is it possible to do a SCIPS(structural concrete insulated panels) type residential single story home build using rock wool (Basalt fiber) instead of a polystyrene core, and if so how would you obtain permits for this type of build, the panels would still have welded wire reinforcement and the stone fiber is actually fire proof, cheaper than EPS and stronger than steel when used as reinforcement fiber, also what are foundation requirements for SCIPS builds? thanks

You might also look into creating a traditionally formed and poured concrete wall but position rock wool roofing boards in the form (as is sometimes done with EPS). Are rock wool panels really cheaper than EPS?

Yes it's possible and yes Roxul would be far superior to EPS without going into all the details, see the matl data sheets for that. Ton of videos on the internet on how to do the foundation, do some research, you can take SCIP to the basement, why not! You code comply the steel like rebar any of the manufactures can help with that. Take the info to your local AHJ show them a prescriptive path with wool since it is insulating not structural, yes it will be a little of a hassle but worth it...Do all manufacturing locally if it's just a one-off home, doing a series of specs build a jig. You don't need Mexico nor GCT. Get some 14-18 gage steel lath and some w-trusses...the design beats ICF by far! BTW stonewool is not "stronger than steel" it's insulation! Stonewool in much more compatible with steel than EPS. Fire is just one reason of many! Depending on how far you are from a Roxul plant it can be very competitive in cost. They are expanding in the US, do more sales in Europe.
