is it ever acceptable to cover any frost? or am I running a huge risk by doing that? with a building detail that does not promote drying to the outside very well and only to the inside with membrane.

"How much is the warranty actually worth in the first place?"

Charming as usual. The warranty is worth quite a bit. Some are worth more than others if the right dealer was selected. Price a new fan coil installed after the old one is destroyed by construction debris and vapors.

"And how many folks do we reckon actually tell the heat pump manufacturer that they did this?"

There is a reason for the policy (incidently some furnace manufacturers have the same one). It can be harmful to the unit. Why would you buy something as expensive as a geo heat pump and start it's life off by by potentially causing it harm and voiding the warranties?

Why not get your sub zero fridge in there too and let all the fellas keep their lunch in it through the whole build process?

Of course. Labor rates can differ significantly.

I have seen builders “just carry on” with some pretty badly water saturated building assemblies as the result of poor planning and “getting caught by surprise by the weather”. The best solution is as Dana outlined, remove the batts and heat/dehumidify the house. The best solution to heat/dehumidify house during construction is as Badger suggested, just rent the necessary equipment and don't abuse your HVAC system. Anything else is a compromise solution with potentially compromised results. Next time consider planning your construction phases and equipment needs to better address the likely weather conditions.

im not running the air handler just the infloor heating system to try and not fill the ductwork with dust and crap. my issue here is because the geothermal company turned the furnance and backup heat on a cranked it on a friday afternoon and i came back monday to a mess. a huge mess, The moisture level of the wood is below what dana suggests drying it to but im replacing the insulation room by room and installing membrane and drywall. Shitty slow process but gotta do what you gotta do

I'm sure this is related entirely to the drywall/paint phase. Once past that it's probably a non issue. If run during drywall, the dust particles will be in the heatpump and whether you tell them or not, they'll know you're lying.

to cover it with membrane

Just to clarify it is Certainteed MemBrain. The word "MemBrain" is the product's name. It is not a generic membrane. MemBrain and IntelloPlus are two products to consider.
