New construction in Michigan Zone 5. I am being told that for cold weather builds, that they install craft faced fiberglass batts between the 24" O.C. trusses to allow for some heat to be put into the building for drywall install. After drywall is installed, would go back into attic to air seal (pull back fiberglass, air seal, replace fiberglass) and cover with sufficient blown cellulose to attain R60. This seemed odd to me. Is this normal protocol? Anything specific to be worried about with combo of fiberglass and cellulose? Thanks in advance. Ian.

I've not heard of that being done, but it can make some sense if it's cold outside.

It's fine to just blow cellulose on top of the fiberglass- no worries whatsoever.
