Hello I can relatively easy capture all of the grey water from my bathroom basin and bath/shower. I would like to put this to good use by watering a vegetable patch, however I cannot find any definitive information of whether this water should be filtered before storage in a water but. Does anyone know of any references for further reading and/or some products that would do the job? Many thanks

Before/during/after storage, gray water SHOULD be filtered before it is USED.

You do not want to be using grey water on edibles. Because, even with filtering, you can't guarantee that you're getting all the soap, etc out.

If your gray water is rain-catchment, that's one thing. But household recovery is only suitable for stuff you're not going to eat. Trees, shade plants, flowers, etc.

Also, you want to avoid using it on seeds and seedlings.

No sure if I would even use it to water grass. Gray water stinks if it sits.

Seems like a lot of trouble for what it is worth. It appears you are really trying to conserve water which I admire but looking at the numbers a 10 min shower will produce ~15 gallons of water? I think you could get that down to 3 gallons by only having the water on to get wet and then again to rinse off. At 3 gallons it doesn't seem like it is worth it.

Agreed, rain water harvesting makes good sense, but gray water harvesting not so much unless maybe you have a septic system. https://www.thenaturalhome.com/greywater/

Straight gray water?  Yeah.
Filtered gray water shouldn't stink.
