The discharge side of my open loop geothermal was recently replumbed to support 2 stage operation. Unfortunately, this has created flow noise and a strong whining tone. As a temporary fix, I turned the upper ball valve until the noise stopped, though this reduced the flow rate below recommended. The installer returned and placed a valve (not shown in pic) on the discharge line and adjusted it as best they could, also adjusting the pressure regulator to get the nominal flow rate. The noise, however, is still very annoying. Any suggestions welcome.

With high differential pressure ball valves can be noisy. A globe valve is much more quite.
