Hey all. I’m buying a 25 year old house in the DFW area. It’s 4500+ square feet, which is concerning because the attic insulation is standard blown in fiberglass. I am wanting to have someone install closed cell foam in the attic, but I’ve read that it can exacerbate certain conditions. My wife has mild-medium asthma. Does anyone have any knowledge of how it might affect her, or have any data on the subject? Thanks!!!

Wouldn't do it. Cost versus return are not good. Simply add more attic insualtion. Cheap and effective and no inpact on the asthma situation.

I agree with Smartwall. An attic with blown in fiberglass is as good as it gets...especially if you have energy heel trusses.
