Hi all, just looking at the design calculator, I don't understand what the B angle is.  My friend is runs a machine shop so building a poncelet waterwheel is no problem-- CNC plasma cutters, lathes, lots of good experience, but I would like to design it right.  I was hoping the he could just plug it in to his auto cad program but niether of us are that savvy.  Can anyone explain that beta angle or "B thingy"  or should we go back to geometry class  ?  Maybe anouthe question would be how can you find the angle (beta) on a curved line?

From what I can tell after looking at that link the B angel is the angel of the blades in relation to the outer part. It is almost like a tangent but not exactly. You start the blade at that point at the specified angel and then make it curve with the radius that come out in the calcs. At least that is what it looks like to me.
