Georgia is considering banning LEED certification for its state buildings because many believe LEED discriminates against the use of locally grown wood. http://www.constructiondive.com/news/georgia-considers-ban-on-leed-certification-for-state-buildings/379155/ What do you all think? Are the critics right?

I doubt that "many" believe in LEED discrimination of local wood. More likely a few legislators who get campaign contributions from large timber interests. Politics are the driver.
