Hi Everyone,

This is my first post to this forum.  It seems to be an amazing wealth of information and I am learning an incredible amount.  With that being said, are there any published materials that people know of to learn more about Energy Efficient Planning, Development, and Construction?

I searched the forum for books and didn't hit on anything.  I am usually very poor at using the search funtion on these forum search engines though.

I have read in several topics about "Passive Home" and would be interested to learn more about that style of planning or others like it.

Thanks for any help you might be able to give,
Dave

The best book on energy efficient building - by far - is Joseph Lstiburek's "Builder's Guide" series for different climates, published by Building Science Press. Its chock full of details so its not a quick read, but it is the definitive guilde to building this type of house and is quoted often in this and other forums. He also has published a book on SIPS if you are leaning in that direction.

Passive House is a method for building houses that are extremely energy efficient - (www.passivehouse.us) but understanding the ideas, theories and methods in Lstiburek's book are essential before getting into PH.

Happy reading!
