Well, I am seeing the importance of a backup for our planned ASHP. Our site in Oregon has been below the shutoff point of the Mitsubishi Hyper heat (-13) for 14 consecutive hours. Below zero for more than 24 hours. guess backup resistance is good insurance if we were not there during a period such as this.

what are you seeing for a decrease in interior temperature? And how is you house insulated?

I always have a wood burner because we like the ambiance. It's also the back up heat just about everywhere.
