Not sure if right Forum, and did check to see if this was mention or not.. But..

I just saw a $349 (price point) FLIR camera for IPHONE 5+.

I think for 350$, its a nifty thing to have around.. To help me spot my envelope deficiencies before I finish my 4 year in progress retrofit.

The sensitivity & resolution on the cheapo infra-cams aren't nearly what you get out of the professional equipment, but it's still good enough for a lot of stuff. There are a few of them out there already, and I expect them to become pretty common eg:

I've been using the Flir One for about a month now and it's been terrific for doing building envelope work. Great for finding moist areas (we're in the middle of torrential rain season here in the Pacific NorthWest), air leaks, and poorly installed/missing insulation.

Seek Thermal has an Android version out there for roughly $199. A new version with focus Seek Thermal XR is just out as well but $100 more. Rumored that Flir one is coming with an update mid year 2015.

I realize the Delta T on these will not be awesome, but they put the IR technology in an average users hands for way less than multi-thousand dollar devices that are out there. The advertised temp range for the Flir One is 0- 100 C while the Seek Thermal is -40 to 330°C. Seek Thermal claims "206 x 156 Array. Resolution for the Flir One is 80 x 60, but the two seem similar in resolution in the images I see online.

Any other users out there that have results?
