Our footers are poured and the guys are setting wall forms as we speak.  I am trying to finalize my underslab insulation and have ran into some areas I am uncertain of.

1.  9 ft poured walls so i'm pretty far down in the ground.....how much rigid foam do I really need for a radiant floor heated basement floor at that depth?

2.  Shallow frost footer...for my walk out wall on the back of the basement, we are doing a frost footer...basically it's the floor poured with a deepened edge instead of pouring another footer out on the back of the house.  My question is how in the world do I insulate that and not have all my radiant heat heading out to the ground since it's so shallow.

3.  Stem Walls.  Due to the grade and placement of our home, I expect to end up with about 3 ft tall stem walls for my garage.  What is the best way to insulate those to keep them from frosting up when it's cold and wet outside.  The floor will br brought up to grade with gravel so I was assuming i could use foam under the slab and against the inside edge of the stem wall.  Not sure if it's worth the money though since it's a garage.

4.  XPS or EPS.....really???  Tons of different opinions.  I can't tell what's what with the strengths and faults and densities....it's tough to make a good decision unless you are a foam expert.

1. Where are you, again?
2. I did a sunroom with the thickened edge formed from 4" of EPS that went up under the slab. One of the 2" EPS boards continued up the edge of the foundation to become the foam outside the sheathing.

4. EPS. One brand is "GeoFoam", I think. 25 psi with maybe 35 psi under the thickened edge "footings" if there is much to that.
