Hello all, back again with a question related to sealing fastener protrusions.

The city came by for a inspection determined we are within 5 feet, requiring a fire-block both sides of the wall. Contractor did not use type-x gypsum or other approved material as sheathing.

Thus, I have had to change my siding choice to stucco as it passes with interior type-x and matches the rest of the house anyway. All stucco contractors want to remove my 1x4 batten strips and use a product like homeslicker to create the drainage channel.

This creates somewhat of an issue as I have 2x1" layers of polyiso that I spent a lot of time sealing as well as the sheathing. Now, stucco requires wire mesh fasteners 6" on center which are going to punch a bunch of holes in my sheathing and polyiso.

Would it be worth it or even make sense to hit the interior wall with 1" of open cell spray foam as air sealant? I understand I cannot have a vapor lock sandwich which is why I'm not looking at ccspf. Is there a brush-on sealer that is vapor permeable? Interior insulation is rockwool.

Let me know what you think.
