Having 8" core ICFs, what bend radius would you reccomend for #4 and #5 Rebar. (Horizontals for walls)

I prefer 3". I think it is code for grade 60. I will have to do a little research.

Sounds about right. I'm making a simple Rebar bender and I thought I'd get it right first before the welding!

Per ACI 318, the minimum diameter of bend for #3 - #8 bars is 6d (6 times the diameter of the bar). It is measured on the inside of the bend. Note that it is the minimun diameter, not radius.

For a #4 bar the minimum diameter is 3 inches (1.5" radius). For a #5 bar the minimum diameter is 3.75" (1.875" radius).

The above applies to bars other than stirrups and ties. Stirrups and ties #5 and smaller shall have a minimum diameter of bend of 4d.

By the way, ACI 318 requires cold bends unless permitted by the engineer.

Well got the Rebar bender made. Works pretty good too. I made it from old tractor parts. I started with a mandrel with a groove. The rest was a big hing section from a front end loader off an old Ford
