In the planning stage for an icf project and intend to use concrete floors.  Two questions:

1.  Does anyone have experience with Hambro's MD2000 composite floor system?  Any thoughts or opinions on this product would be appreciated.

2.  If I use a steel joist system like Hambro, I would like to leave the joists exposed (i.e. not covered with drywall or other ceiling material).  I suppose they would need to be painted with intumescent paint to meet code.  Any thoughts or opinions on this approach?

Thanks very much.

In residential practice you would not need intumescent paint, nor would you need to protect it at all.
There may be IBC situations requiring it, but they also are limited situations.

Would have to agree with Jim on the code issues. Also, we have many ICF crews that use Hambro and love it. There are many floor systems available to suit different needs but Hambro seems to be the most cost effective. We are currently quoting Hambro as our floor of choice.
