First post.  Thanks for the all the good info shared on this site.

We're in process on our ICF home.  ICF walls are poured - very happy with results.  Some backfill is done but we wanted to put the foundation protection on before we finish backfilling.

We have Buildblock walls and used Polyguard waterproofing with a termination strip at the top to hold the top of the sheets.  We had taken the waterproofing a few inches above grade to ensure protection.  From information on this forum I was considering using Tuff II for protection between grade and the siding.  But the Tuff II is a thin coating so it will not hide the termination strip.

Since the termination strip will be visible under my current plan I was looking for suggestions on what to do.  Ideas I had include:
  • Raising my grade 8 inches (not real desirable).
  • Removing the termination strip and putting the Tuff II a couple of inches over the top of the sheets.
  • Putting peel/stick flashing over the termination strip to better blend it with the foam above before putting on Tuff II
  • Using real stucco so we can build it up over the strip (although I've never done stucco - the instructions for the Tuff II seem pretty simple).
Thanks for any suggestions.

Termination strip should be just below grade.

You'll want to make sure the Tuff II will stick on the P & S. Otherwise that may be workable approach. A call to Styro Industries should get you an answer. I opted against real stucco because of no experience applying it. I sprayed the Tuff II. Not a piece a cake, but quite doable for a DIY, IMO. If you have any questions after reviewing the thread below, don't hesitate to ask.

Check out this thread to see how I handled this same situation using Tuff II.

Here's a pic of what some of it looks like today. Hot weather is making it difficult to get the lawn growing good!!!

Dmaceld-that looks like it would work for me with my old foundation and the 2" XPS. I wanted to add dimpleboard but I couldn't figure out how to have the insulation go right up to my siding and still attach DB below grade. Thanks for the pictures, Sean
