Want to build modest (2000 sq ft) new home on farm land near Hammond, Louisiana. I'm finding it very difficult to find contractors who do ICF here. I would think ICF would solve the hurricane and termite problem easily. Does anyone have recommended contractors or builders in the area. Also want to do full-up solar (the Louisiana tax breaks on it are great!)

Man, I wish I was a contractor now! I'd love to come down there and spend the winter building. I lived in Hammond for 15 years. Retired from Uncle in mid 2006 and moved back to Idaho, my home state. We have a lot of good friends down there! Wife misses the mild winters. Whereabouts in the Hammond area are you building?

Even a retired engineer can build a house successfully w/ GBT help!

Many thanks for your responses.  I apologize for the delay, but I was away over Thanksgiving.  The good news is we closed on the land last week, so constructions plans can progress.
I will get in touch as I can.  I have see one of you (Brian) on a blog about a house just built in Baton Rouge (which we have been invited to tour)

I forgot to add. The farm land is up in Loranger (north-east of Hammond) well up out of the swamps
