This is directed to the professionals in this forum.

How many of you are"general contractors" who stack and pour with your own labor and how many are "subcontractors" who do only ICF or other "specialist" work?

As ICF becomes more mainstream, do you see a trend to specialist subcontractors?

I understand that this will likely be a highly regional/local market issue.

Bruce,

I work on the distribution side and focus primarily on driving specification with architects and engineers. Typically, I provide takeoffs only to trained commerical/residential installers in Texas (and occasionally Oklahoma). Most are ICF specialists that provide turn-key installations for larger commerical jobs and have over 1M square feet of experience each. One iof these installers also owns a company that provides turn-key work for smaller hotels (4 to 6 story) in Texas and Oklahoma. They do not frequent the forum although I think it would be beneficial. Generally, they are too busy. I am an advocate of specialist subcontractors because the only significant problems I see in the industry are due to lack of experience or installers working to make the residential to commerical transition. I know his does not specifically answer your question but hope it helps. Regards.
