....your Nudura distributor will probably want you to use the Nudura peel & stick product, which is mfged by Sopremma.... (a good product....)

Blueskin will work as well, and I believe that Blue Skin has all kinds of info in their website re: their product being used on ICF.....

One bit of advice...... I HIGHLY recommend using Blueskin's water based primer. Dampproofing/ water proofing isn't an area to "cheap out" on....

Hammer,

Concreteman is correct. Nudura's peel and stick is fine -- our installers use a product called "iice and water shield" often here (above grade - around windows, etc).  As far as i can tell from a brief review of Blueskin WB it has similar characteristics. You should always use the primer. I'll check into it a bit more formally and follow up. Regards.

Hello Hammer:

I'm sorry that no one has yet been able to answer your post to the kind of answer you are looking for. This one comes straight from NUDURA itself.

NUDURA always encourages it's clients to purchase "NUDURA Brand Waterproofing Membrane" in conjunction with their form system as it purports that it CAN be used (with proper clean and dry preparation of the EPS Foam Surface) WITHOUT primer (though EPS compatible adhesion primer works very well with the system as well). NUDURA has also taken the time and pains to field assess its own material for application in field and knows with confidence the performance capability of it's own privately labled WP Membrane in conjunction with its form system. – The plus side of this is that NUDURA's distributors are then able to provide material warranty, installation instruction and technical data on both the form and WP materials from a single source of supply.

When someone elects to use an alternate membrane to what NUDURA distributes - they are then on their own as far as assessing compatibility, performance and warranty of the product over NUDURA's form material or having to look to the distributor of the alternate material for this information.

This is NOT intended in any way as a negative comment against any available alternative below grade waterpproofing or dampproofing membrane products to NUDURA's own preferred choice. Simply stated, at the time that NUDURA was selecting a product to be private labled as "NUDURA Brand Waterproofing Membrane"- its partners were desirous of a product that could be applied WITHOUT primer in a wide range of temperatures – and the present manufacturer now supplying NUDURA was the only company willing to do so. NUDURA was also desireous of a manufacturer who was willing to provide WRITTEN limited material defect warranty on their products as well as undertake Canadian CCMC approvals on the material for specific application to EPS foam. Again the present manufacturer was the ONLY company that was willing to undertake this task when they were first approached in 2005. The bottom line is, if you are electing to go with an alternate WP material to what NUDURA recommends, sells and services, ensure from your supplier that THEY (not NUDURA) will be the company warranting their material being applied over NUDURA - and clearly determine from them what their instructions will be required for application of THEIR membrane specifically over the NUDURA form system. Be aware though, that this decision (in certain North American municipalities) CAN cause ramifications for material approval by the inspecting Building Official. Check with the local official to see what they need for approval as well. Hope all this helps in your decision.
