Was wondering what Foxblocks are going for per square foot. I know they used to be under $3 per square foot, but now they are going through distributors. I'm assuming the price has jumped accordingly.

Technology has moved on. They're giving that stuff away these days...

I don't understand the statement, in what way has technology moved on, and they certainly are not giving it away!

Bruce,
BigBlock is the same technology. You won't get far ripping your competitors. Especially here. I for one would like to try BigBlock but I use many different ICFs and likely always will. I don't want to tell you how to do business......But I would suggest the approach more like.

"ICFs are the best construction, any ICF is a good one, but ours is a little better because....."

Brad,
Dramatically different technology. Have a look at the website www.polycrete.com. But I have been spanked by the moderators of this forum and will play nice from now on. Where are you located, and do you do multi-story commercial work? We need expereienced installers for US Government projects. you can email me at [email protected].

Mostly old technology. Non reversable, odd  height will complicate typical rebar schedules, no rebar holders meaning all rebar will have to be tied, lack of factory corner forms so all corners will take extra time, they rack easily front to back....side to side.......seems like a lot of extra bracing would be needed to hold in place, heavy metal tie wires will be hard to cut. I do kind of like the fact that there are no vertical ties to have to line up. Will the pro's outweigh the con's......?

Yes, they are reversable; rebar chairs are built into cross ties. Since they're 8 feet long, they don't rack at all, and steel reinforcement means less bracing is required than traditional forms. For corners, you just cut the inside panels back 8-1/8 with a circular saw and then butt them together. Put a 12 foot tall 8" x 8" aluminum corner brace on the outside, plumb it up and you have perfect corners. Carbide tipped blade in the circular saw cuts it like butter.
