We are planning on building an ICF home in Texas and are exploring finishing options. We are leaning towards Exterior Insulation and Finishing System anyone have advice on which system or what to look for? -- Mary Lou

Hi Mary Lou, If you build w/ ICF your insulation, sheathing, furring strips are part of the system, no need for EIFS to be added, if you like stucco it can apply directly to the foam. Best regards, Todd

Calninml, You just want the "FS" of EIFS. These acrylic finish systems are ideally suited for ICFs. I like them so much I will be using them on the inside of my own ICF home. Talk to your local stucco contractor on what they like to use.

Externally Insulating ICF with an extra 4 inches of EPS is a really good idea as most ICF systems don't have enough insulation.
