Hi galore,
Are you using any particular system? I recently learned about Comslab composite roofing system, which appears to be exactly what you are describing. Are you happy with your floors?

It's not a particular system. When I hired a structural engineer, I asked him to design a floor that looks like what they do for commercial buildings (because I like the look) - open web steel joists with a metal deck. He drew a framing plan with joist dimensions, I-beam dimensions, metal deck specifications. This is apparently all governed by standards and you can just buy the joists from companies like Vulcraft or in my case CMC (which promptly decided to exit this business after they delivered the joists LOL!). I'm the "general contractor" (= DIY project) and was responsible for getting everything together from various different companies (joists, deck, structural steel, erecting the steel, concrete, concrete pump, concrete crew...). So far I'm happy (but it's still under construction so I don't have live-in experience yet).
