I'm looking for a detail for installing thin stone veneer (lick & stick)directly to EPS foam (ICF). I have some ideas but would like to hear if anybody has experience with this detail. Thanks Al

We did one project, several years ago, such as yours. We were advised by the stone mfgr. to apply
30# felt and then a two layer cement coating with fiber mesh embedded, before attaching the stone veneer.\
Make sure the mesh is attached securely to the 'nailing fins' in the ICFs.

I used Owens Corning cultured stone, River Rock, for accent on my house. The mason put it on with regular mortar over metal lath attached directly to the ICF. Worked great.
Even a retired engineer can build a house successfully w/ GBT help!

If this is a cultured product (i.e. lightweight) you can put on a basecoat (cement and fibremesh) as per for acrylic stucco and then stick directly to this. If it is real stone I would go with Wes's suggestion.
