Hello, I have a question about my gable icf ends. I'm wondering if I should even attempt them now. My basement floor is 11 feet tall and 8 inches thick. My rebar is half inch grade 60 every 16 inches vertical and placed it at every block on the horizontal. my second story is 14 feet tall and 6 inches thick. My rebar is going to be set at 8 inches vertical and horizontal at every block. My gable end will go up another 12 feet at the peek. My footing is 12 inches thick and two feet wide. I wonder if that will be sufficient to support all the concrete? I originally wasn't planning on going this high. My soild is rock and red clay.

Sounds like a question for an engineer if you ask me. They will know the calculations or possibly even your form manufacturer should have some competent people there that can answer that for you. Personally I have 20 by 8inch footings on mostly clay base and 13rows of 18 inch Nudura blocks for a height of 19.5 feet with 6 3/4 inch core so it sounds like your footings are a bit bigger for a reason and should be correct but I'm not an engineer but may give you a better feeling about it anyway.Just my two cents.Good luck.

Samdog, I also forgot to mention, most only do it if there is living space going behind the gable ends as well.
