Any opinion on Vbuck. Is it a better install over using pt lumber? Is there a large difference in cost? |

V-buck cost is a lot higher than most wood products, but as their saying goes, keep the wood out. The product, like all products has a purpose and a place. It is generally slightly faster to install. Issue is no distributors near me stock the product, I am not buying and storing a skid of each size for each block I install.

Chris, Have you ever used it? Have you ever seen windows installed after the fact? Do standard nailing flanges have any issues with buck? Also, have you had any issues with PT warping or attaching flanges? |

Yes I used it several times. I did not install the windows afterwards, it was not in my contract on the v-buck jobs I use lumber mostly, I have installed the windows in them on some projects. I have not had an issue I cannot figure out and fix

Thanks Chris, So PT is a reasonable option that works well while vbuck is nice it costs more and is not readily available. |

Pretty much, and depending on your location you may not even need pt, some locations allows regular lumber above grade |

I use VBuck over PT as it is quick and easy to install the only disadvantage for DIY people is the specialized bracing. |

Just a thought, but you may want to consider a steel integrated framing assembly. Reward walls has one and so does stala framing. They are placed before the concrete pour and once the concrete sets, they are permanently fixed. They have them with thermal breaks. No problems with air leaks. That is the direction I am leaning |
