I was just wondering if anyone here is familiar with the block mfg in Mississippi Green Built www.msgreenbuilt.com and if so Pros/Cons. Im planning on building soon and weighing my options, they are only 1/2hr from me (should save on freight if nothing else) . Thanks in advance for any input

I'm not in the business, having built only one ICF house for myself, but I am not impressed. Their website has no information about the block construction. It looks like the webs are styrofoam. There apparently are no imbedded plastic or steel webs to which you fasten drywall or siding. The project pictures show only stucco, brick, and stone, on the exterior. Nothing that is attached directly to the wall with fasteners. One photo shows the entire interior wall lined with 2 x 4 studs against the block. It looks like that is what you have to use to fasten drywall. One primary advantage of other ICFs is no need for a stud wall on the perimeter of the building.

The solid webs they show will severely hamper concrete flow and consolidation, IMO.

I think it's going to be a market dud. I'd stay away from them.

Even a retired engineer can build a house successfully w/ GBT help!
