Hi All, I'm curious if anyone has built an ICF walled pool(instead of a steel wall pool) and used a vinyl liner. I'm in the process of doing just this... I am just not sure of the type of vinyl track to use that would fasten to the concrete(instead of the insulated wall)? Thanks all for your help! Jer

Is plastering the pool out of the question? Im not a fan of vinyl but I know some of you up north need it due to freezing concerns.

Yup, the freeze thaw will probably prohibit me from doing that. I'm going to anchor my walls well below the frost line though so they shouldn't move.

i'm trying to figure out exactly how to install my skimmer.... I want it flush with the ICF interior wall because I'm using a vinyl liner. Should I pour the skimmer in place or build a buck/opening for the skimmer and slide it in after the pour - If I poured it and say later it needed replacement I'd have to demo that part of the wall? Any suggestions? Also, the skimmers I'm seeing for vinyl walls don't really seem to work with this type of build. I will need the type of skimmer that comes with the faceplate and gasket to go over the liner.... Any suggestions on a brand or model to look for?

Every gunite pool skimmer is concreted in place. Ive don't hundreds without a problem but of course anythings possible. If it were me Id concrete in a Vinyl liner skimmer and be done with it. It will be nested inside the ICF wall so it would be hard for it to get damaged. You will be having the same issues with your return lines and fill/overflow.

Im not sure, this is some of the types Ive used. http://www.homebuiltpools.com/coping/coping.htm You will have to figure a way to attach it to the icf. There isnt much pressure pushing against the cantilever deck form while pouring so maybe get some aluminum plates and drill and screw into the icf concrete and then rivet the plates to the cantilever form. No Guarantee that it will work though!! Make sure the form has a lip that will "lock" into the deck since it will essentially float on the foam.
