Gentlemen -
I'm a builder in the eastern panhandle of WV. I've built numerous houses with every type of foundation...cinder block, poured concrete, and even Superior precast systems. What I have not built on is ICF's and I'm looking to try one. I have a local "Custom Builder" that does install them but only on his projects...start to finish and he told me it would cost me close to double what a poured concrete foundation would cost. I find that a bit tough to swallow as I couldn't imagine being able to sell someone a foundation that adds 10's of thousands of dollars to the cost of a foundation. With being said, are there any ICF installers anywhere in the Northern/Southern Virginia area interested in talking about a project? Also any insight on expected cost would be nice, really only talking about the labor and form material cost. I actually feel as though we could handle the stacking and bracing but it would be nice to have some experience in the pouring and shoring department.
