I am starting an ICF project in Missouri and I thought I would give it a shot to get some at a discount from someone semi-local. I need 300ish 6" and 300 8" blocks and around 60 corners for each. I would be interested in forma a drain and XPS (extruded polystyrene) as well. I am going to give the block a few days (would prefer buildblock or fox block, but would consider others)  and I can wait longer on the forma a drain and XPS. Let me know what you have!

Thanks

Several blocks are molded in Missouri so shipping should not be too bad. I know that Build Block is made there as well as Reward and Fox Blocks

I checked here http://www.icfmag.com/documents/ICF_COMP_CHART/ICF_Comp_Chart.pdf and was aware of BB and Reward, but I can't tell that Fox is. Irregardless, I was looking for someone that maybe had a warehouse of some that wanted to move them out at a big discount.

Move them at a "big discount"? Why would a builder want to do that?

Your best bet would be to contact the form company direct, and simply price what you want, and buy them. BuildBlock and others are formed in Nixa, Mo., and you can pick them up yourself. And...so you know, "irregardless" is not a word. Also...there is not a very good margin with blocks...we are lucky to make a $1 a block, and usually less...asking a builder to take a hit for you isn't the best way to build a relationship, or get advice or technical help when you need it. Beat them down on blocks, and then ask them to rent you or loan you the braces on the cheap...see how that works.

Typically, blocks are running $17 each average, for BuildBlock and comparable. By the time you run freight, and taxes at the point of delivery, and labor to handle them, you obviously end up with more cost in them, then just the price FOB at the plant where they are molded.  When I quote blocks for people wanting to do their own builds, I make very little, but I will not sell them at a loss. The only savings that can be obtained by a one time builder is to start buying blocks left over from other contractor's projects, and then, you have to keep in mind how the excess blocks were cared for, or handled roughly. And obviously, you would have to buy the same brand or invest lots of money in glue.

The best projects use blocks from the same run in a plant, and delivered at the same time. Not the leftover and broken bundles from another job.
