A couple of years ago there was a thread on here about getting window flashing tape to stick to eps around windows. I had been applying it directly to the eps since I started with icf's in 2003. Since the window is covered (Hardi-plank,brick,vinyl) how do you know that it stays tight to the eps? I took a block of new icf and applied a strip of flashing directly to it and a secong block that I applied Blackjack 1000 to before applying the flashing and set them aside. Now for the interesting part. Moving things around in my shed the other day I came upon these blocks (shows my memory). These blocks had both been in an enclosed, unheated, uncooled shop with no moisture on their ends with gravity working against the tape for over a year. My normal application tape was hanging whereas the blackjack treated tape was still firmly attached. Based on this limited trial I now have a new step before flashing windows.

1 - BAKOR Bakor Aquatac Primer.
2 - I used some screws and aluminum sheets for loose sides.

I used the Black Jack Ultra-Roof 1000 elastomeric roof coating to "prime" my ICF basement walls (2 coats) before applying TAMCO peel-and-stick water proofing membrane.  It worked great.

Here is a window flashing thread from 2012 where I discussed the Black Jack elastomeric roof coating: http://greenbuildingweb.com/Forums/...fault.aspx

The good thing about the Black Jack is you can order it online and pick it up at your local Lowes.
