I'm building my all ICF home and I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. My house is a walk out and the frost footing on the walk out side extends down five feet and is ICF. My question is should I use peel and stick or dimple board it before back fill? Seems like its below the level of the basement slab so this treatment won't accomplish much? I am installing drain tile/washed rock on the other three sides of the house. Thanks for your insights!

I use only dimpled membrane and if your drainage area includes the walk out area then I would install the membrane there as well. It's insurance that you don't have a problem in the future. Use the dimple only membrane not the fabric covered

Where are you building? In most areas of Canada you do not need to waterproof foundation walls that are below the level of interior finish unless there is sufficient hydrostatic pressure to force moisture up into the basement.
Best bet if you are not sure would be to check with your local building inspector and/or your ICF supplier. They should be able to help you out.

I tell my customers that water/moisture doesn't travel up or horizontal unless it is stopped going downward. Install a drain sock and backfill with good materials (even if you have to import) install a quality peel and stick on and you will be fine.
