Hello I'm adding a porch to an existing ICF home with STO mesh/fiber and synthetic coating. I'm hoping to find a good method. On my back porch I used step flashing but the vertical portion was just caulked to the outside of the wall wall. I'm seeing some staining and will need to address. My plan was to cover with a PCV trim board and caulk the top edge. Aside from cutting a slot in the foam, or removing a 6" stip of foam and replacing foam and STO, is there a tried and true way to flash? Thank you for any guidence Patrick T

We have used EIFS trim to cover flashing, but a photo of your situation would be helpful.

on my own house i have cut a slot through the old stucco and icf, filled the slot with caulking, and then pushed angle flashing into the cavity.
i am in florida and it has stayed water tight for 10 years now. insuldecfloridaataoldotcom
