I'm trying to find steel door bucks like those offered by Stala and Noric F4.
It seems that Stala is out of business, as they do not answer their phone. And Noric F4 has apparently been purchased by Fox Blocks - and a couple weeks of trying to get pricing from them has yielded very little information and led me to question whether they can timely fulfill an order when they can't even answer pricing questions.
I want all-steel bucks with return for drywall on inside and groove to accept end of steel siding on outside. I don't want to monkey around with vinyl or plastic bucks.
I prefer bucks which include a thermal barrier. And I'm potentially interested in fabricating one or two door bucks out of stainless.
I don't want to engineer these myself and have them fabricated.
Thanks in advance for any leads you can provide! |

All steel bucks? Are you sure?, where is the thermal barrier in that? Drywall returns are usually part of the window, not the buck. Fox sells FOX Bucks, all Styrofoam, that's what I used |

yeah your asking quite a bit for a steel buck! you might look at Pre-Buck they work good and its less of a thermal break, but the best buck is foam for sure, most ICF systems now have some sort of end buck for windows and doors. |

Stala makes a very effective product. They use a mass customization process and at a reasonable cost, customize the buck to meet the exact specs of your doors and windows -- they include drywall returns and the door bucks have the hinges built in. They can include or not include a thermal break. Their execution is terrific, but their customer service and sales departments leave a bit to be desired. Try contacting Jon Keith [email protected] (502) 779-2127 He's the president of Atlas, their parent company. |

Ugh, spoke with some sales rep from Fox Blocks today about steel door and window bucks. Fox Blocks bought Noric F4. The guy spent 5 minutes telling me how they want to do big jobs, not little ones. I suggested he simply price small quantities to cover whatever costs they have and let the market decide whether or not it wants to purchase their product at the price they set. All I got was push back from the guy. Anyone looking for steel bucks for an ICF project should probably cross Fox Blocks / Noric F4 (owned by Fox Blocks) off their list. I will be pursuing Stala.
