You can use a power finish nail gun to install baseboard and other trim directly into the webs of most blocks. Give a try with a scrap of block. I tried it about 10 years ago and the only way to remove the nail is by twisting as you pull. More that enough holding power for trim. You just have to mark the webs on the floor before dry wall is installed

Agreed - just nail directly into the webs (test piece is a good idea, since not all blocks/plastics are created equal). A larger gauge nail (I use 16 gauge) holds well in the ties. Most drywallers will leave the bottom screw exposed, so you don't need to mark the web locations. Just place a piece of painters tape on the floor to mark a web, then stretch out a tape measure - every 8" (or 6") will be a web (ignoring vertical stacks).

I used a 2 inch rip of OSB all the way around on the outside walls, that way the trim still covered the gap and the few uncovered bottom screws that the drywall crew left. My primary concern was for the future, finding "studs" in the ICF walls is a pain. With the rip screwed down every couple of feet all I need to do to find the webs is pull the trim and look for the screws, and unlike most of the drywall screws those are not filled and painted. As far as cabinets I used a hanging rail, and screwed it to every web it crossed.

These are all good ideas. You might consider another approach as well. If you are disciplined about putting your seam (if any exists) in all walls in the center of the wall (or write down where you put your seam if any for each wall). Then all you have to due is measure out from the corner to your web. Most blocks are 8" on center but you may need to measure the block of choice corner to the first web and then you can find them all to the center of the wall. Of course if there's no seam once you find a web on a given wall you've found them all in the same manner as all dimensions will be divisable by 8". Regards

You might be able to find the webs with a stud finder (depends on the stud finder and block type). My personal home was built with NUDURA and I was able to find the webs, but I think it is picking up the small metal pin that creates the hinge in NUDURA's block. I can run the stud finder horizontally and not find anything, then try again a few inches lower and pick up every web (the steel pins are about 4" high and are spaced about 6" apart vertically so they don't run the full block height).

Not sure if this works with forms that are all plastic ties. A magnetic stud finder should be able to find your drywall screws with any type of form

ICFBdr, Agreed. A stud finder will work fine with Nudura but it has to be a good stud finder. I've heard there are stud finders out there that work on density changes (e.g. foam vs. plastic, as opposed to looking for metal) and these might find studs in most ICFs but I don't have any first hand experience using one of these.
