Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience, it is truly appreciated. I haven't thought about voids in the foundation walls, so it is a good and new thing to me to look for when we strip the foam around these wet areas. We would like to fix those voids too. We definitely will put in a dimpled Superseal layer, its benefit is well documented on the Internet as in relieving water pressure as well as protecting the "waterproofing membrane" (which is the Soprema p-s sheets, I guess) during backfill. I noticed my neighbor on the west side covered a section of his walls with a dimpled membrane a few years ago as well. It is a pity, even a sin, that a dimpled membrane was not installed around foundation walls in the first place. I now feel a little better that excavation can be done with an excavator with a mini track hoe, it gives me hope that it won't be super expensive. Thank you for this tip. My last question is what I should do with the existing p-s sheets ? Thanks again for your valuable inputs. |
