I am working with Sip's for the first time, they are being used in conjunction with ICF on my current project. Division walls between garage and house and also on the back wall of the second floor where the floor is set back and could not support ICF. Here is my question, how much should the square foot cost be for the install?? The pannels are 8" sips and came in 10 foot and 9 foot heights. both are being cut down to match the wall heights. Home owner wasn't sure of exact height of walls when ordering. Also have to cut for one man door and two windows.
Project is in Toronto, Ontario. Any help on pricing would be appreciated. I was thinking between $3-$4 a square but I am only going on an ICF install price. Realy have nothing to go on.
Total square feet is about 2000. 3 corners the rest just straight runs.
Have maybe 300 square up so far, so far so good, Would definately do another one!!!

Thanx

Paul - I don't know labor pricing in your area (I'm in Alabama).

Here is the pricing I would use on a non-complicated typical roof line and no turrets etc:
- Ready To Assemble SIP package where all panels are cut, foam routed out, lumber installed where possible etc at the manufacturer = $2.25 - $3.50 per square foot of panel. The price also depends on the accessibility of the site and if the panel package can be staged there etc. All conditions being favorable for the install, then $2.25 - $2.75 per sq foot.
-Blank panels brought to site and all manufacturing done on site w/same favorable conditions as above = $4.50 - $6.00 per sq ft.

Reading your post it sounds like you only have a couple walls to manufacture on site. Is the SIP package a RTA Package? Do you have the tools and know how to cut/route/assemble and seal the SIP's? I would highly recommend having an experienced SIP person running the show. Perhaps your manufacturer can provide guidance?

John, thanx for the info. Don't know what an RTA package is. Yes I have all tools needed to do the job. I have read through the install guide and the sales rep came by for a visit. It is a slow go but I think I can put it all together being a simple job.
Thank you

Steve.

As per an earlier response. Labour cost is contigent upon the complexity of job, and whether the panels are pre-cut.
If you are using blank 4x panels and you an experience SIP installer, you should be able quote at standard local framing rates. In fact, you would probably be ahead dollar wise.  Experience is the key.
