Can anyone give me feedback about LEEPCore panels or the company LEEP Inc from Somerset, KY. I am interested in using their metal skin polyurethane core Structural Insulated Panels.
Have you used their panels? Did they deliver promptly, were the panels delivered in good condition, was the order complete, etc.? Comments directly to my e-mail will be appreciated. I am not out to hurt any product or company. I am just trying to do due diligence to protect my clients.
My e-mail address is in my signature block below. |

Alton;
I have a sample in my office and met with the CEO John Nordstrum some 3-4 years back, there are some things I liked about the panels, but mostly did not care for the prefabricated sections requiring a crane to erect. I had on 2 occasions sent them plans for a quote and never heard back from them?
Last I knew they were in Pennsylvania , the contact number on their web site is a Wisconsin # |

I think management is now in Louisville and the plant is in Somerset, KY. My understanding now is that all assembly can be done in field. I may be wrong about that but that is what I think. I am asking about this company because they make metal skin polyurethane core panels. Some of my clients perfer this type of panel. Now that G-SIPs are no longer in production, I am looking for another supplier.
Are there any other companies that make this type of panel that is within reasonable shipping distance to Alabama.
I think most of my clients would happily use laminate skin polyurethane core SIPS if they were readily available. |

Chris,
Thanks for posting the picture. I am assuming that this is a 24" wide LEEPCore panel. Why is what appears to be trim metal attached to the panel? Is that necessary or is it just to show the trim metal that arrives with the panel. |

Alton;
as I recall the panel sections are glued together at the T&G joint, prefabricated in 12-16 ft. sections wrapped in metal frame. The frame probably need to be heavy in order to pick up, I don't remember if sections get bolted down or welded to clip imbedments.

LeepCore is a galvanized steel skin, polyurethane foam core, load-bearing SIP that is used to construct walls, roofs and floors. LeepCore constructed buildings are stronger, lighter, and quicker to erect than with traditional building materials. |

Chris,
According to LEEP Inc's web site, panels, assembled sections or entire building kits can be ordered from the factory precut to the millimeter. At the present time, panels have a maximum length of 12'. Hopefully, longer panels will be available later. I like the idea of longer panels although a mechanical lift may be needed for placing roof panels. |
