I'm new to this forum and would like to know the Top (5) SSIP Plants both U.S. and International, during some research.  Of course the selection criterion is durability, production, on time delivery and capacity.

Thank you

I have experience with a couple. But Extreme Panels in Cottonwood impressed me a lot and I have heard good things about them. The owner is the president of SIPA too.

Chris of SouthernSips knows his stuff too.

ICF,

SouthernSips is not a plant. Extreme Panels do not sell SSIPs.

However, Structall Building Systems, Inc. is a manufacturing plant and does sell SSIPs.

Top 6 plants because I only know of 6 plants.

KINGSPAN

STRUCTALL BUILDING SYSTEMS, INC

PRECISION FOAM FABRICATORS

PERMATHERM

ELITE ALUMINUM CORPORATION

METALS USA BUILDING PRODUCTS

You also have: (1) INSULATED PANEL SYSTEMS (2) MBCI (3) METL-SPAN Of course the best one is the one closest to where you are using them.

Do you know why they stopped? It seems odd one would start producing panels and then just stop. I would think there are significant machinery/tooling costs.

They primarily run aluminum skinned panels. The roll forming equipment for aluminum or steel is the same. If they stopped, they can easily start again. So, the reason they stopped may be demand related.

Torben; a lot of politics in a large corporation like MUSA, at first they were excited about new market potential, but they never did a good job of lead follow ups, the aluminum business has a different mentality than a building materials company. I think the potential was there , but with only one national sales person, the lack of internal support the program was overwhelmed and failed
