I think i like a plumb cut, that looks like a good place for wasps to build in
$50/hr if I do it, $75/hr if you watch, $100/hr if you help!

Lbear,
It is hard to improve on a prefinished product that already looks like a soffit
even this 1.3 million dollar home left the white 26 ga.steel skin exposed
the panels come with a matching fascia cover

A flashing detail, if any ,would be job specific, depending on the method of attachment to the wall

I thought where the 2 panels lock needed to be waterproofed on exterior portions. It's a T&G connection, right? Would that be air/water tight on a 24" exposed soffit?

The matching fascia cover is simply just screwed into the SIP on the top and bottom?

Fascia cover detail.........................................

thanks of the detail!

Are the weep holes factory installed or is it done in the field?

Ideally shouldn't the roofing material extend over the top of the facia cover to give it water protection?

Can you get a SIP with the facia covered with a factory laminated 26 gauge steel?

Chris,

Do you recommend taping where the panels join with SIP tape?

Only if you are leaving panels exposed
If you are you using self stick under the standing seam, then you have taped it

What about the underside of a soffit? What kind of SIP tape, would OSB SIP tape work for metal?

No, if you want the underside sealed just caulk the narrow joint with white latex elastomeric caulk.
