For the past year we've been planning and prepping for a major barn conversion here in Canada. Well I'd dotted the i's and crossed my t's thinking that 12" roof and 8" walls regular sips was a no brainer. Now my contractors thinking metals sips as I want a tin roof anyway with standing seams. And sends me to look up awip-vicwest SR2 panels 6" at R49? Question is any one worked with metal sips on a gambrel roof system?

Ribbed metal SIPs are not appropriate for traditional residential construction due to the edge detail at the eave.
