My working theory for a passive solar house currently is just a rectangle 48'x30' with a sloping roof, 24' on the high wall. Sope would be between 4/12 and 6/12. I'm thinking metal SIPs, and hope to use the surface as siding and roofing...at least for the initial build.

What are my concerns regarding snow, both supporting the SIPs and ice/water damage? Suggestions?

Not sure what the concern for ice & water would be? they are commonly used as the permanent siding or roofing , as long as there are no valleys

any ice is going to lay on the roof, there is no place for damming to back up,gutter attach as normal with a screw type attachment
