Should ice and water shield be placed along the bottom 2-3 feet of roof SIPs. There will be a cold roof over the SIPs. I'll also have a very small shed roof (12' x 14') over a laundry room bump-out. I can't vent it since it comes off the side of the house. Should I put ice and water shield on that? Thanks.

it can be vented with an "off ridge vent"

Why would you need an ice or water shield for a SIPS roof? Also, why would you want to "off ridge vent" a SIPS roof?

The OP might want to expand on his concerns. Certainly using ice and water shield on the SIP panels below the cold roof will not hurt; but it might not be necessary. Since the SIP panel surface should be cold in any case, the 2'-3' bottom portion would not be prone to ice dams which is usually the reason for that application. The key to avoiding problems at the SIP outer surface is to make sure the interior SIP surface/joints are well sealed to prevent warm moist air escaping to that cold outer surface.

I assume the venting question is related to the cold roof; and a off ridge vent could provide the necessary venting for your little bump out.

Yes, it is the potential for ice dams that is the concern. With respect to the small shed roof, it is a 4:12 pitch so I'm concerned about snow sitting on it for a longer period than with a roof with a greater pitch. I was not aware of the option for off ridge vent.
