I'm looking for some expert feedback on my previous paragraph.  My only concern on the 12" walls is moisture on the exterior sheathing using the closed cell pray foam and wet blown cellulose.  I got the message about plywood verses OSB.  I have considered using 12' of wet cellulose but read that I could have wet exterior walls and I'm not sure the zip wall with 1" foam would fix this.   I'm not sure you can blow 10" of wet cellulose.  I have 5.5 of wet cellulose in my existing home (R-19) and it doesn't cut it above 90 or below 35 degrees and the cellulose is still standing firm. I have brick and stucco on this home and am leaning towards HARDY BOARD for the mountain one.  Can't use stucco or any flameable siding  up there.  Is a 12" wall overkill for the proposed hydronic in-floor heating(propane/electric boiler)?   With the 2X6 wall and zip/foam the best I can see is R-33 which may be sufficient or not, and the question about the zip foam against the 2X6s. The new home back wall with 4 windows and two glass doors(heat loss) has to face north due to the walk out basement and spectacular view.  This is why my architect is against the 12" walls.  Of course he is planning on 4/5X7 windows and 10' doors.  This will not happen.  The doors will be 7' and windows 3X5.       I still want to put the pex on top of the basement floor.  Feedback.

Bob, you have posted these threads in the testing area not in one of the General or Design forums.

If your Geo did not work as advertised then the install was not done properly. Watering the ground over 100 ft deep wells does nothing beyond a few feet down.

I would just copy and paste the text into a new thread in the general forum. Open the General forum Residential click on the add new topic.
